Professional Lighting
Professional Lighting is the largest Business
Area in the Fagerhult Group. Offices, schools,
hospitals, hotels and museums are some of the
environments in which Fagerhult’s solutions for
good lighting can be found.
Architects and technical construction consultants
In its market processing, the business area primarily targets the prescribed portion, that is, architects and technical construction consultants, who are to deliver solutions to lighting problems as part of their assignment.
Development within this area is mainly driven by demands for energy efficiency, to which the EU’s energy directive applies. This means that all buildings must submit energy declarations. It is possible to reduce energy consumption in all buildings by at least 20 percent. This can be accomplished by fine-tuning the heating, ventilation and lighting in the building’s public spaces.
Customer adjusted solutions
Based on the Energy Directive, Fagerhult, in close co-operation with the customer, creates and delivers solutions for lighting with the focus on the ergonomics of the work place.
Selling lighting is not about selling products. Fagerhult shall be experts on energy efficiency, light planning and lighting technology. This expertise shall provide the ability to create lighting systems which integrate well into the environment in which they are to be active. In collaboration with architects and designers, Fagerhult shall develop solutions that blend into the environment without dominating it, or even being noticed.
These solutions also take place with a perspective on the cost over the entire life cycle. This means that the products shall have a quality and an energy consumption which makes the cost-efficient for the defined light exchange.
The market
The growth within the Business Area Professional Lighting is favourable at an annual rate of 3-4 percent. The sales of the business area amounted to MSEK 1,489 in 2006, an increase of 33 percent. Operating income was MSEK 105.5 and the operating margin 7.1 percent.
The market is facing a clear trend towards increased interest in light control, not only with regard to energy issues. Our need to be able to individually regulate the strength of light is just as important. Man’s adaptation to living with the variation of daylight is the basis of this. We require different lighting levels in order to feel good. This also affects our performance level. The possibility of personal regulation to a comfort level suitable to the individual is becoming more and more important. |

| Award-winning design |
Wall, Orosso and Open Box are examples of two elegant solutions that have been developed in collaboration with leading designers.
Wall is a product of the architect trio Claesson, Koiviso and Rune. Wall’s electric fittings blend into the wall, which puts the light in the centre of attention.
Designer Olle Lundberg is responsible for Orosso. This electrical fitting combines circular fluorescent tubing with regular fluorescent tubing in workplace lighting, in which four light sources form one unit in order to accomplish even lighting over the work surface.belysning över arbetsytan.
Bakom Open Box står Propeller. Armaturen har ett gemensamt hus för ljuskällorna och framhäver utrymmet mellan dem.
All products have received awards for their design and function. |
