Fagerhult's best contribution towards an ecologically sustainable society is to manufacture energy efficient luminaires.

Fagerhult is working on lowering energy usage and thereby contributing to lowered combustion and lowered emissions of greenhouse gases. A new lighting plant from Fagerhult can halve energy usage compared to an older one. In an office building, lighting can account for between 30-45 percent of energy consumption.

By using a modern lighting structure, energy consumption can be halved in an office building. Apart from using energy effective light sources, different types of light controls also contribute to lowered energy consumption.

Our own energy consumption

In 1999, Fagerhult introduced plans of action and detailed goals for the consumption of both oil and electricity. These plans and goals are continuously followed up as part of our environmental work. In our plants, energy effective lighting systems with energy controls are applied and Fagerhult has been environmentally certified in accordance with ISO 14001 and EMAS since 1999.
